OUR STORY
Two best friends – Kristen and Gosia.
One shared interest – wine.
A chance encounter during our MA in Media studies at the University of Cape Town and a 6-month stint in Paris led us into the delicious world of wine. We even made a wine documentary. A few sips later and we headed to Burgundy to study a MSc in Wine Business. With a newfound niche in wine media and driven by a passion to make wine accessible for everyone, we decided to return home to work independently in the South African wine industry. Today, we know that there are wine people and there are not wine people. In between this, you need someone to adapt all that information from being poncy poncy talk to actually being for real human beings. And that’s exactly what we’re here for.

Glou Glou means drinkability. It’s wines that don’t pretend to be high seriousness, but nor are they lightweight or dismissable. Much like us - two women working in the wine industry, with a shared background in wine business and media. We like to say gloo-gloo, not dissimilar from glug glug, which is that sound wine makes when you splash it down. Our goal? To talk wine - for real human beings.
